Healthy cheap recipes for Two
Living on a budget doesn’t have to mean alternating between Raman Noodles and peanut butter sandwiches for every meal. It is possible to prepare and enjoy deliciously healthy meals for low cost. Here are just five blogs that are dedicated to cooking such meals on a budget:
Updated regularly, Budget Bytes is a blog run by a dedicated foodie on a strict budget. Beth, the owner of the blog, personally tests all recipes posted on the blog and includes detailed written and pictorial instructions to assist even the most novice chef. Her recipes include a wide range of vegetarian selections, as well as meat-happy ones!
With a blunt title, Poor Girl Eats Well is exactly what it sounds like. The blog is updated often and has a huge selection of recipes (including a section dedicated to vegetarian meals). As a bonus, they also boast helpful grocery shopping lists to help you stick to your budget.
Run by two cousins with a passion for good food, Healthy Tasty Cheap is a blog that is just what the name suggests. The cousins live on budgets themselves, which makes the prices more appropriate for frugal chefs. Although updates are not as frequent anymore, the archives of the blog offer great recipes with a range of tastes.
A crude title perhaps, but Brokeass Gourmet offer high quality recipes at a fraction of the cost. All recipes come in under $20 a piece (multiple servings per recipe, of course). The blog focuses on ways to imitate an expensive lifestyle in the kitchen without footing the bill for it.
Another poignant title! Good (Cheap) Eats is an extensive website-blog that boasts a huge selection of cheap, healthy and tasty recipes to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Additionally, they offer a range of resources for grocery shopping, kitchen tips, and even eating out on the cheap.

What are some cheap and healthy recipes?
I need some ideas for lunch that is cheap and easy. Trying to watch my weight but don't want to spend a fortune on food.
Last weekend I was very bored with things I have been eating for lunch. Farmer cheese was on sale at the deli. I got a half pound sliced. I bought a bag of low fat pretzels, a jar of pickles, and some fruit.
I ate the cheese with the pretzels, the pickles were my veggie and I alternated with apples and oranges for my fruit. It was very easy to put together each day.
